Report on final work carried out on Parapara PL 311132

This report summarises the prospecting history of the Parapara prospecting licence to February, 1986. Drilling at Laverton Creek appears to have precluded the possibility of large tonnages of ore grade silver mineralisation and there appears little prospect of extending this concept. The adjacent geochemically silver anomalous areas are of a much lower order of magnitude and no ore grade silver mineralisation has been located. Reanalyses of occasionally high gold samples previously reported from the silver mineralised zone has not duplicated earlier results. Other gold analyses in the adjacent area are generally low and no immediate prospect of a gold mineralised target is seen. The anomalous area know as the Forks, in the upper Parawhakaoho River was not investigated. This area remains worthy of further work.
