The estimated recoverable coal in the Flat Creek Coalfield is about 1,000,000 tons. Prospects are reasonably good at the Flat Creek Coal Companies and Borcovskys leases. Maruia Coal Companys lease is not good. Although further prospecting could be carried out. Future development is likely to the South of Borkovskys lease. The purpose of the report is to summerise the knowledge of the Flat Creek Coalfield mining.
