Summary publication compiled on coal reserves from investigations by NZ Geological Survey, Mines Division, Liquid Fuels Trust Board, and NZ Coal Resources Survey. The reserves are classified in geological understanding into three categories of Measured, Indicated and Inferred. To indicate the varying levels of knowledge concerning mining, the coal reserves have been classified according to a level of confidence varying from 1 to 7. The aim of this publication is to provide a prefeasibility study for coal reserves.
