Mini-sosie seismic profiling in Maramarua coalfield

The technique has clearly shown coal seam structure and identified some formation boundaries in overlying strata but does not show variation in seam thickness within the range of 5m to 10m known to occur in the trial area. The trial in the Maramarua Coalfield has demonstrated the ability of mini-sosie high resolution seismic profiling to elucidate structure quickly and comparatively cheaply, beyond the level which even close drilling could achieve.
