The publication was designed to provide simple background information on the more important minerals of the County together with short bibliography from which more detailed information can be obtained. The presence of large areas of Precambrian greywacke and argillite, of granite and granitoid rocks, and a Cretaceous and Tertiary terrestial and marine sediments make the Inangahua County one of the most geological interesting areas in NZ as well as providing a wide variety of minerlas.
