Cretaceous and Cenozoic history of North Westland

This report has been prepared to synthesise all the available data on the Cretaceous and Cenozoic geology of North Westland as an aid to the assessment of hydrocarbon potential and future prospecting. Special emphasis has been given to the late Cretaceou and early Tertiary part of the sequence as this contains the most likely source and reservoir beds. It is intended that his report will eventually form part of a larger manuscript describing the Cretaceous and Cenozoic geology of the West Coast of the South Island.
