Login to download

The report explains the second and third phases of the seismic refraction surveys by DSIR to aid coal exploration in Central Otago. The surveys described were made in the Homehills Run and Roxburgh East areas in 1979. They were made to help define the shape of basins in the Mezosoic and Paleozoic rocks which contain low rank Cenozoic coal or lignite seams, and to aid the definition of the coal deposits and the efficient siting of holes drilled to investigate the deposits.
