Exploration Permit 56220 (Awaroa West) covers an area of 201 hectares in the Waikato Region, falling within the Rotowaro Coalfield. This report discusses Solid Energy's work to-date within the permit. Work presented here includes a review of old mine plans and archive material to fully understand historic extraction limits, and a drilling programme to confirm geological structure along with coal depth and thickness across EP56220. Several lower order exploration targets were identified and flagged for further work. A primary resource development target was identified in the central east of the permit area adjacent to the Rotowaro Opencast Mine and was estimated to be 0.3 to 1.0Mt.
