Surrender Report states the reasons for relinquishment of the permit and also describes the work completed until Aug 2014 since its grant Aug 2012. This PP 54463 permit was held by Oreti Resources Limited at Hedgehop Block of Southland. Work completed has included literature review and a programme of four drill holes for testing the lateral extent of the coal and to obtain coal samples for analysis. Coal quality analysis results identified the coal rank as of Sub-bituminous A. However, Oreti Resources Limited has made the decision to surrender the permit due to the current price of coal and loss of prospective markets both locally and internationally.
