This report outlines the work completed by Solid Energy between November 2011 and January 2014 for the exploration permit (EP) 50797, Welcome Opencast, within the Reefton coal field on the West Coast. Work has included a drill program of five holes, the creation of a 'Whittle pit optimisation model', the proposal of an infill drilling program and an update of the geological model. The inferred coal resource within the permit at the time of writing is 5.1 Mt.
