Pike River Coal Company Limited has prepared its mine's final design for stone drive and the pit bottom area in 2005. Drilling of PRDH18, PRDH19, PRDH20 and PRDH21 have indicated the pit bottom area be structurally complex, have a high permeability, have a high water-table, and have high in-seam gas content.
