The Mt Frederick Block, located at an elevation of about 1050 metres above sea level, is 3km south of the Stockton Mine office, and is estimated to contain 3.49 million tonnes (recoverable) of high quality bituminous coal. Low ash coal reserves are estimated at 3.26 million tonnes. All the coal is assigned a measured status. The Coal seam is overlain by a sequence of coarse sandstone and mudstone, with the average stripping ratio being 2.09 cubic meters: 1 tonnes caol Coal is Bituminous Medium Volatile rank and is mainly very low in ash content (1.2%) and also has low sulphur content (0.7%). Main utilisation potential of the coal is as a source of blend coal for the manufacture of metallurgical coke.
