The report presents the findings of a preliminary review of the hydrological conditions pertaining to mining. It assesses the magnitude of the three possible hydrological problems that could affect mining, namely, the major water flow into the mine, settlement or subsidence of the ground surface as a result of drainage of the unconsolidated sediments, and modification of the surface drainage patterns. The report also outlines a programme of work to confirm the preliminary findings.
